This is an exciting opportunity to become involved in policy development at the critical interface between universities and colleges and their funders and regulators.

The Better Regulation Group is seeking to appoint a Policy Officer to join the small team which supports their work. You will be working in an exceptionally busy, dynamic and varied environment and will be interacting with those at the highest level within universities, funding councils as well as a range of key stakeholders including Government.

This work will include servicing meetings, drafting policy papers and other material, undertaking research, surveys and consultative work and liaising with external organisations, including Government Departments and the media.

You will have good analytical and research skills and the ability to analyse and assess data and construct detailed reports. You will also be numerate and adaptable with excellent communications skills and the ability to interpret and explain policies and data and provide advice and assistance to others. The ability to plan and manage one's own time (and several projects at once) and to deliver on schedule will also be essential.
