Applications are invited for a three-year PhD studentship in threshold concepts and expertise in dental education. The position will be based at the Dental Institute and the King’s Learning Institute. The project will involve observation and interaction with students and teachers based primarily within the Dental Institute in order to map the teaching and identify key concepts to inform curriculum development.
Prospective students should have a good first degree (first or upper second class) and ideally a Masters degree in education. Experience of a clinical teaching environment is desirable but is not a requirement of the studentship. The work will employ a variety of qualitative research tools; and will be expected to make a significant contribution to the development of theory and practice of university education.
Funding is for 3 years and covers stipend and UK/EU registration fees.
