Philosophy Of Mind And Cognition

University of Edinburgh - College Of Humanities And Social Science - School Of Philosophy, Psychology And Language Sciences

You will have PhD and have publications commensurate with the stage in your career. You will conduct research and teaching (including doctoral supervision) in the areas of Philosophy of Mind and Cognition and will contribute teaching to the Masters level specialization in Mind, Language and Embodied Cognition. Teaching skills in the area of consciousness studies, perception, metaphysics, and/or the philosophy of language would be considered an advantage.  The successful candidate will be expected to supervise PhD students working in the area of Embodied Cognition, so an important asset is research expertise either in that area or one which complements it. A willingness to seek external collaborations and funding will also be an advantage.

Tenable from 1 August 2010.


Salary Scale: £36,532 - £43,622
